Family-to-Family

The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program has been cited as a “best
practice in recovery” by the Ohio Department of Mental Health. This 12-week
course is for families and friends of persons with mental illness. The course is
taught by trained family members. All course materials are furnished at no cost
to you.
You will attend with other family members just like
you in a confidential setting.
- Learn how families unite together against this disability.
- Learn what your relative is actually experiencing.
- Learn about the biology of the disorders and about current research.
The course focuses on:
- schizophrenia
- bipolar disorder (manic depression)
- clinical depression
- panic disorder
- obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- borderline personality disorder
The course discusses the treatment of these illnesses, and teaches the
knowledge and skills that family members need in order to cope more effectively.
